Problems of Gender Inequality in Workplace. (expository) - Haima

 



        Why is gender inequality always happened? Gender inequality has been an issue in workplace not only in Malaysia but globally. Women in the workplace nowadays has been treated unequally. However, there will be a solution to every problem faced. The main problems from this issue are lacking women in leadership, women earning less money than men even they are doing the same job and women will be isolated from their leader. All of these problems will be discussed in the following paragraphs.

        First and foremost, we can see that men always become a leader in any group task. It is because the company think that women are weaker than men. It will make that the company biased and not welcoming female workers. As such, company should make gender equality part of training and education to make everyone aware and get equal support and chances to become a leader. The company also should clearly state that they want to hire female workers so that everyone know they will accept women in their company.


        Other than that, women will be paid less money than men even they are doing the same job. Statistic stated that twenty-five percentage females complain about their salaries because they got paid fewer than men. It is happened because the employer thinks men have more experience than women. Hence, company must get rid of the gender pay gap so that both female and male workers get the same salary. It is fundamental because salary is one of the key factors affecting relationships at work if it is not paid equally.

        Last but not least, leader – who is a man – will ignore all the female workers and he will pay more attention to male workers. On the other hand. Females will not get their opportunity to show their talents and capabilities to conduct the job as well as males. Thus, the leader should see what females can do and help them if they are doing wrong. This will make females feel that they are accepted by their employer. This is vital to promote female workers as a leader.

        To put it in a nutshell, all of these problems can be overcome if companies open their mind to hire female workers and treat them equally. There’s a lot we can do to stop gender inequality in workplace. By stopping gender inequality, we can see both, female and male workers will work together without any gaps between them.
