In the few years ago, Amaleen was a girl who lived in a colourful life and happy with their parents. But, in 2011 where amaleen has entered the age of 13 years. When she entered the high school, her luck turned unfortunate. She was the victim of ridicule from her schoolmates and also classmates. She was the victim of body shaming. What is body shaming? As we know, "Body Shaming" often happens in your life without realizing it. Many people still don't really understand what "body shaming" really means and what its effects and consequences are on a person's mental health. Everyone is born with a different appearance, body shape, skin color, physical size. But behind this diversity and difference there are some people who use it as a joke for their own satisfaction.

Back to Amaleen’s story, Amaleen has experienced body shaming from form 1until form 5. Because of this, Amaleen was changed from a cheerful person to a very passive person. From the first day she entered to secondary scholl, people always call her with username that can make she feel insecure. Actually, Amaleen is an excellent student at school, but because she is always being a victim of body shaming she feels scared and down. She also did not brave to stand out and give opinion in her class. She also doesn't have many friends because she feel insecure and think that people didn’t want to be friend with her because her physical size didn’t match with others.

So, the effects and consequences of "Body Shaming" on Amaleen, who is often being bullied is she begins to lose confidence in herself, which she even lead to stress that causes depression because she is often ridiculed and looked down upon. Because of that, it has harmed Amaleen's mental health. In addition, she also lost her appetite, emotional disturbances and the urge to self-harm. In addition, Amaleen also didn’t attend the class in many times because she feel so insecure with her body and didn’t have any confidence to talk and social with her friends and people at the school. This effects was continued until she was entered in phase of unervisity. Then, her family was bring her to the hospital and refer to counseling to treat her.

In conclusion, with this case it has been proven that was body shaming is a very serious act and needs to be stopped in Malaysian society. For example, abroad they also do a 'Stop body-shaming' or 'Say No to body-shaming' campaign which is joined by many figures including celebrities and popular artists.
