HUSBAND SHOULD RESPECT THEIR WIFE (ELLYA)

Many people don’t know how awful gender inequality is. People may think that it is being handled but it is not. Women don’t have as many rights as a man and just because of that women are not treated well, denied their human rights, and valued less because of their sex. I believe that man should respect their wife because woman deserve to be treated well like a human being and their opinion is valuable.

In marriage, a women’s role is to be a servant to her husband. From the past to the present, women continue to be house slaves to their husbands. They have to cook, clean, and stay home to take care of everything within the house. They had no freedom in selecting how they wanted their life to be. While men did not care about her rights because they grew up with a mindset that they controlled everything and their wives were to be obedient. A husband should be involved in doing house chores because women deserve to be treated like a queen.

Yes, God has assigned the man to be the leader of the family, and the woman is meant to submit to him. However, it doesn’t mean women do not have the power to share their opinion with their husbands. Most husbands are not willing to share power with their wives because they tend to feel like they can make decisions on their own, especially if they are the main provider in the family. As a gentleman, the husband should consult his wife when making big decisions because you respect her and you value her opinion in the family.

Some people might not agree because for them a wife must obey her husband with love and affection. However, this does not mean that the woman is a lesser human being. These roles are just meant to create order in the family. Just like how the president and the common people are entitled to the same rights under the law, men and women have equal human rights. Thus, a husband should treat his wife as they want to be treated as a person. 

One could argue that relationships, in which each of the spouses is fully equal to the other one, are impossible and it’s true. However, once a husband and wife build a relationship based on respect, they will be able to search for compromises instead of trying to take full control over the household and the relationship.
