Gender Inequality Affects Someone's Life (Descriptive) - Asyikin
Gender inequality is
prohibited in almost every human rights treaty including international laws
between men and women. Despite this law being confirmed by the government
itself, there are still irresponsible people who are still judging and
discriminating against others without feeling guilty. I have experienced being
a friend of gender inequality victim and I caught her very traumatized. It
affects her life because she was being discriminated by her own employer and
they destroyed her dream job. She also bear all the burden as she is a wife to
the irresponsible husband.
In her workplace back
then, she used to be a very talented and responsible person. Her colleague
always referred to her whenever they had some problems. She deserves a higher
position in her workplace, but because of her employer prioritises men as
leaders, she has to agree with it even though she has the potential to be more
powerful than men. I observed the opportunity in her but she lost it because
she kept bear in her mind that she was unable to do something. She was a very
reliable person but because of discrimination, she lost many chances to be more
than she could be. Now, she became an introvert person and not talkative as she
used to be.
And that is not all, she always came to me and shared her story with tears. She told me that her husband always forces her to do all the housework alone at home. She was loaded with her work and also had another ‘job’ to do which is cleaning the house, sweeping the floor, organising all the mess and many more. Her husband always left the housework to her because he assumed men did not have to do the daily chores. Women are just like men, they also feel tired. House chores is not focusing to the women only but all these houseworks are responsibility together without any exception. Women should have the same rights as men to live peacefully without facing any gender discrimination, and also they should be treated respectfully and nicely.
In a nutshell,
everyone should take this issue seriously because it can affect people’s mental
health and more worse it can ruin someone’s future. Every single one of us
deserves happiness and joyful moments in life. We have to prevent this issue
because it can lead to depression and even worse it may make them commit
suicide. No matter what, all opportunities should be given to all people
equally so we can see the potential in everybody.
