Equal Opportunities For Women In Workplace (argumentative essay) by Amni Damia

Gender discrimination in the workplace happens way more often than we thought. This issue arises in our society due to a lack of trust and open-mindedness toward women. Some also believe that women should not have the same opportunities as men in the workplace.

However, I genuinely think women should be given equal opportunities in the workplace regardless of anything. First of all, one of the many reasons I support this idea is I believe that women can be better leaders than men. This is because women are more organized and thorough in their careers than men. Moreover, women with leadership potential are frequently not treated equally and excluded from the company. Statistics from Victorian Government (2021), show that companies with more than 30% of management positions held by women are 15% more profitable. This clearly shows that female leadership in careers can have a significant impact on companies.

Secondly, I strongly believed that women are more productive and committed to their job than men. According to Hive (2020), women work 10% harder than men in the office, and the completion rates are just as good or better than men. This show that women have more passion in their career and strives to do the best. Furthermore, women still can concentrate and get the job done, even with various challenges and problems. Reasons for this is that women are better at multitasking, less distracted, work more flexibly, and have a better work-family balance.

Although women have their own privileges, they are unable to do all types of work, especially physical work such as construction, agriculture and finance. According to Gruver (2020), construction is the industry where women least believe in equal opportunity, with 31% of women saying equal opportunity does not exist in their job or most jobs. This is due to the fact that men and women have different strengths and weaknesses. Even though we frequently see claims on social media or elsewhere that men and women are same, they are indeed not. Numerous studies found that both sexes have specific areas in which they are talented.

In conclusion, I agreed that women should be given more opportunity to and get equal treatment in their workplace because gender equality in workplace will be beneficial for everyone. Gender equality in the workplace needs to be prioritised and paid more attention to ensure that everyone feels safe and happy at work.
